What is RSVP?
RSVP is part of SeniorCorps, a network of national service programs that provides people 55+ the opportunity to apply their life experiences to meeting community needs. RSVP volunteers serve in a diverse range of nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based groups.
RSVP provides seniors with the opportunity to use their life skills and stay active, while making a difference for those in need. Whether they choose to volunteer regularly, or wish to work on one-time special projects, RSVP volunteers make valuable contributions that help others in Boone County.
What does RSVP do in my community?
We currently have more than 400 volunteers who donate their time and talents. RSVP volunteers visit homebound seniors, make blankets for needy children, and assist local agencies that provide services to the less fortunate. We also help staff fun events like Senior Games, help visitors at the Columbia Visitors Center, and promote literacy in our area schools. The possibilities are endless!
Can I volunteer with RSVP?
RSVP is committed to offering volunteer opportunities to anyone age 55 and older who wants to help make Boone County a great place to live. Whether you want to volunteer from home or go out into the community, we can help you find a worthwhile way to serve. We offer transportation assistance, volunteer placement, problem resolution and volunteer recognition. You can volunteer with RSVP!
